Shelby Miller
A 2007 grad of DePaul University's MA in Writing program, Shelby is a newly minted freelance writer. Her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan led her to Chicago in 2003, where she worked for five years as a personal trainer and group-exercise instructor. She is certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as the International Sports Conditioning Association (as a kickbox instructor), and her experience, along with her study of fitness and nutrition, has culminated in a passion for offering advice and instruction on healthy living. Her areas of expertise include strength training for weight loss, the structuring of effective and time-efficient workouts, sport-specific training, and pre- and post-natal conditioning.
In addition to writing about fitness (and about writing!), Shelby's interests include food, American wines, travel, reading, TV, movies---essentially any and all media consumption. She relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina in November 2008 and is very much enjoying the milder climate.
